To meet the rising demand for at-home EV charging, Continental Realty Corp. partnered with MD Energy Advisors and regional stakeholders to implement charging infrastructure at five Maryland multifamily properties. The collaboration resulted in 5 stations with 8 charging ports and secured $58,067 in incentives through BGE and the Maryland Energy Administration.
Challenge
Continental Realty Corp. (CRC) is one of the most respected real estate investors and operators in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.Their portfolio consists of more than five million square feet of commercial space and nearly10,000 apartment homes in 8 states. Since 80%of EV charging occurs at home, CRC recognized the growing need for electric vehicle (EV)charging access at their multifamily properties in Maryland, allowing residents a convenient place to recharge their EVs.
Our Solution
CRC partnered with MD Energy Advisors, BGE,ICF, the Maryland Energy Administration andChargePoint to develop an EV implementation strategy for a group of 5 multifamily properties.The project was a success, resulting in 5charging stations with 8 ports, leveraging incentives from BGE and the Maryland EnergyAdministration, totaling $58,067 in rebates.
